Despite the rise of both digital downloads - now thankfully mostly DRM-free - and free music streaming services, it seems the humble CD still has life in it yet.

In a recent Pocket-lint poll we asked our readers if they still bought the physical format. When asked "Do you still buy CDs?" Just over half - at 53% - said yes with 47% coming in with a no.

This suggests that Pocket-lint readers, although overall still shelling out on CDs, are more digitally inclined than the average music fan.

Wider research carried out recently by The Leading Question, a media and tech research agency, and Music Ally, revealed that 73% of music fans are still happy buying the physical format over MP3s.
