In what maybe a result of a little bit of early Christmas spirit, AT&T and Verizon have dropped their respective legal cases over their current advertising squabble.

AT&T was suing Verizon over its current there's-a-map-for-that ad campaign that bashed AT&T's 3G coverage, claiming the ads were misleading.

Verizon then filed a case against AT&T promising an entertaining legal battle between the rival operators.

But now it seems the battle is over, with neither side saying why, although Verizon has announced that its map-based advertising is "continuing with the same language and the same maps as before".
