Gizmondo has set the 19th for is UK launch. The handheld console will be going up against the Nintendo DS (launched at the end of the week) and the Sony PSP (whose lauch seems to have gone awol at the moment).
The console is hoping that the addition of remote gaming via a GPRS network will give it the edge over the competition.
The handheld also doubles as a movie and music player, camera, message machine. In the hope that a retail store will give the console a bit more credit on the high street, Gizmondo is also opening its flagship store on London's Regent Street on the same day, just doors away from Apple's store.
