Is Apple readying iTunes movies rentals?

Screenshot slip-up shows "RentalMovie"

iTunes user David Wantanabe found an interesting nugget in iTunes (that has since been changed by Apple) but managed to grab a screenshot while it was live.

The shot appears to show that movie rentals will soon be coming to iTunes, in the States at least. On the "report an error" page, some options in the drop down menu suggest issues relating to film rentals.

"I was trying to report a problem via iTunes, and this pop-up for selecting a reason contains some interesting/revealing strings ... looks like "RentalMovies" will be coming to the iTunes store", states Wantanabe on his Flickr account.

Steve Jobs recently promised "news" soon for Apple TV, and this could well be it. Earlier in the summer it was reported that Apple were in talks with movie studios about a possible rental service.

Speculation has the rentals at a 30-day hire and for around $3, although they no doubt would cost double that if, and when, they came to iTunes UK, which has only just gotten the option to buy TV shows.
