Seagate has confirmed that products featuring D.A.V.E (Digital Audio Video Experience) will be appearing at CES 2008 in January."You can expect announcements and launches at CES next year", a spokesman for the company told us. "We can't say who they are, but it will be in the mobile phone and digital camera arena."
Announced as a prototype at the beginning of the year the D.A.V.E devices promise to offer wireless storage for digital files from mobile phones, PCs and other wireless-enabled devices such as digital cameras.
The D.A.V.E platform is designed with Bluetooth 2.0 EDN and WiFi 802.11b/g technology for access to smartphones within 10 metres (30 feet).
The technology will aim to allow users to slip a D.A.V.E-enabled device into a purse, briefcase or pocket while still offering bigger storage for the main device.
Seagate say the drive will offer up to 60GB of storage and be suited to users who want more memory than can currently fit on a memory card in their phone.
We will keep you posted. Hardware, Phones, Storage, Seagate
