  • Now that is going to be so cool. I don't know though if the round board would go down as well as the square one with users. Can't wait for the release though. Posted by Aquila, Fiji
  • That chip and pin system sucks. Every player over the age of ten can count paper money faster than it takes to use that clumsy card system.

We got a chip/pin system in our monopoly, but traded it for regular money after one game.

Plus we got to design own our monopoly money. That was fun.

  • The joy of recieving a large stack of bills when you nail your opponent with one of your hotels or the pain of parting with your cash will be removed with this version. No more joys of piles of cash in front of you while you look across the board at your opponent in near-bankruptcy status. And speaking of the board, where are you supposed to roll the dice? Or did they computerized that too? This board is too crowded, plus where do the Chance and Community Chest cards go? Or does this version even have them? I think this version removes alot of the elements that make this game what it is. And if the main reason to push this version is to prevent people from swiping cash from the bank of each other, then this issue is who you are playing with, not the game. If you are looking for a new twist on the standard Monopoly game, I recommend the Monopoly Mega Edition. Posted by J B, USA
  • Hasbro has a new game called CHARGE LARGE... It's a new twist on Monopoly... Cash and Credit Cards are used... Players start with Cash and their entry-level Gold Credit Card and as they use their credit properly (and beat other players) - players can upgrade to the Platinum Credit Card and then the Elite Black Charge Card. Good game!! Posted by Stacey, USA

  • I've played Monopoly for years. I have credit cards and consider myself to be tech savvy. I have a cell phone and write software. I am not living in the stone age. With that said, I think this version of the game stinks and it will be a total failure.. For the reasons echoed before me. Many of the game elements may be lost; how do you roll the dice; pick a chance or community chest card; how do you trade with an opponent or accept a property in lieu of rent? What about "house rules" like free parking? Posted by Erik, USA

  • They change it to reflect the cashless society they are just dying to invoke. Do your freedom a favor, fergeddaboutit. Play good ol' Monopoly. It's fun, and the cheating adds alot of laughs to the game. Posted by Tyler, US
  • Yes...do your freedom a favor and play with that good old fiat, valueless paper! We all do! Posted by HarryScotsman, Scotland
  • How can I get my children to practice simple addition and subtraction with a clumsy card and PIN?? No wonder we are raising a bunch of dolts when it comes to simple maths, Posted by Chaps, Australia
  • Imagine playing monopoly against a player who is also the bank. You could never beat them, becasue they coudl always 'get' more money.

This is situation with the USA and capitalism and Federal Reserve.

It is criminal and must be ended.

  • Take away the cheating, lying, thieving banker, and the game loses all it's realistic characteristics. Thanks to 'Monopoly', I learned early in life that you never have to lose when you're the banker. All you have to do is let the other win once in a while in order to sucker them in, else they won't play with you anymore. Posted by Don, USA
  • So when is the implantable RFID chip paperless money version of Monopoly going to be released? Posted by Gavin, USA
  • "So when is the implantable RFID chip paperless money version of Monopoly going to be released? "

I think that pretty much is what this is. This is disgusting and creepy. You know the monopoly guy is modeled after JP Morgan right? Not surprising at all..

  • What are you all like a 102 .... I think its brilliant. Kids will eat this up making them feel even more important with there little bank card. Move with the times or get left behind!!!!! And I think the design is great ... Posted by Matthew , South Africa (CPT)
  • then theres the new one... 'Charge Large' about the quest for an ultra
    exclusive 'black' card....

not surprisingly to me hasbro board has the usual name groups one would
find on boards of banks in an odd inversion of their total contribution
to the numbers of the general population....

I mean deliberately or coincidentally, I don't think you could avoid such
a large gathering of such a small global minority imparting their world
    view on their decisions.

  • Interesting how at a time where we are moving towards a cashless society Monopoly introduces a version where the bank controls and knows all transactions.

This is the perfect game to introduce a new generation to sliding the card. Why even think about the money that's in the bank, because it's safe there ...ahem

This is a rather interesting approach from a contrarian point of view. I guess if the batteries go dead we can consider that a run on the bank and nobody gets their money or any exchanges. I'm going to stick with the same traditional game of monopoly even though I do have to play with fake money.

Oh wait, what's the difference between the dollar and a monopoly dollar. Aren't both backed by nothing.....
