  • Well, not to burst any bubbles but this is years old technology.
A number of Christmases ago when visiting relatives, the children were all playing a console game on the TV and the gist of it was you use your body (arms, legs etc) to burst bubbles and other hit-em games (and yes, I beat them even if I was the only adult playing it).
Might have been a Nintendo, age diminishes the memory. But it had a camera plugged in, calibrated quickly and follows your body movement. Best with a plain background so the video does look good following the girl driving whilst her family cramp her style !!!!!!!
Obviously nowadays things should be more accurate (higher res camera, more computer processing power etc) but as a radical new (sic) games controller, it falls into the 'been there, done that' category.
So, what's next Microsoft - an 8 way joystick ?

  • adrianaitken - I think you are referring to the EyeToy on the PlayStation 2, that had various movement games like bubble bursting. That said, Microsoft have a similar system of a camera and superimposing players on a background with "You're in the Movies", which let's face it, wasn't that good.
