  • From my reading online FireWire 3200 is closer to ratification and implementation than USB 3.0--although USB has greater mindshare. I think USB 2.0 is great but I think FireWire is superior for audio, video, and low latency external HDD. eSATA covers the low latency part but lacks the hot swappableness and bus power of FW.

    Personally, I am waiting anxiously for the next-gen systems that will have SATA-III, USB 3.0, and FW3200. That will be the day!
