AOL has confirmed that its browser, Netscape Navigator, will no longer be supported after 1 March 2008.

When the Internet took off, Navigator was the browser of choice used by more than 90% of people online.

AOL, the owners of the Netscape internet browser, has said it will not be offering support for the application after 1 February 2008.

The move, according to the company that bought the browser in 1999 is due to a lack of users.

You would have been forgiven for thinking that Firefox was the only rival browser left, but the other two rivals to Microsoft IE, Opera and Netscape, released patches to their browsers, both standing on version 8.
