The Wearable Technology Show in London had some interesting devices on display including smartwatches with rotating displays, bone conducting headphones and sleeping masks that claim to cure jet lag, but wearable tech also means smart clothing. 

SmartLife was one of a few smart clothing company's showing off the latest in clever clothing, announcing the availability of the SmartLife sports bra and SmartLife Men's Compression T-Shirt. They aren't the cheapest gym clothes by any stretch of the imagination, with the bra costing £45 on its own and the t-shirt setting you back £70, but they are cool.

Both items offer a nice design with sensors integrated throughout. The bra comes in black, while the t-shirt is electric blue and the sensors within them pick up a number of vital body signals including EEG and deliver them to a small black device. The small device is what the company calls the "brain" and it is discreetly hidden in a small pouch on the inside of each garment.

The pouch sits on the waistline and the small black brain can be removed easily and secured by simply tucking it in and zipping it up. The brain's algorithms turn the signals into useful information, such as your heart rate, breathing rate and the amount of calories you've burnt, and deliver them to an app on your smartphone or tablet.

Connecting to your device via Bluetooth, the data collected by the garments is then synced to the cloud so you can access it from wherever you are using a internet-connected device. We didn't get a chance to try the clothing on but SmartLife claims they are very comfortable and "don't compromise movement".
