Sennheiser PC 300 G4ME headset
Is in-ear worth the money at home?
8 October 2009 12:00 GMT
- The Good
- Very comfortable, lovely dramatic audio quality, solid noise isolation
- The Bad
- Not ideal for MP3-players and the 3m cable can get a little tangled
- Verdict
- Excellent option for wired gaming
-
Fujifilm FinePix S200EXR digital camera
A viable all-in-one alternative to a DSLR?
8 October 2009 9:00 GMT
- The Good
- Sturdy construction, intuitive operation, broad focal range allows for a wider variety of creative choices
- The Bad
- Priced the same as an entry level DSLR (albeit cheaper than one coupled with a lens with the equivalent focal range), standard definition video
- Verdict
- A jack-of-all-trades super zoom that whilst it may not offer the broadest range on the market, offers one of the best builds and a distinctive feature set none the less
-
HTC HD2 - First Look
Multi-touch, Sense UI, 4.3-inch behemoth 7 October 2009 11:05 GMT- The Good
- Power is evident, excellent design, staggering weather app, screen
- The Bad
- Might just be too big to use as a phone
- Verdict
- In the HTC HD2 you can see years of experience in dealing with Windows Mobile devices. The quality of the build and the construction, combined with HTC's Sense skin on Windows Mobile puts it a step ahead of rivals in this super screen size
-
Windows Mobile 6.5
Has Windows Mobile found its vibe?
7 October 2009 8:55 GMT
- The Good
- New homepage and honeycomb menu, MyPhone sync is great
- The Bad
- Dive into the menus and options and it is still that same old Windows Mobile, small button presses still require a stylus on occasion
- Verdict
- The choices are almost overwhelming, but cut to its core Windows Mobile 6.5 isn't drastically different from its predecessors. Having seen the stark difference between device performance today, it is clear that there will still be "good" and "bad" devices to choose from
-
HTC Touch2 mobile phone
A new era of Windows Phones?
6 October 2009 10:30 GMT
- The Good
- HTC additions resolve clunky Windows Mobile 6.5 issues, FM radio, compact
- The Bad
- Windows Mobile 6.5 still offers a poor user experience, screen not the best
- Verdict
- Windows Mobile 6.5 brings some superficial tweaks, but deep down the OS fails to deliver the experience of its rivals. The HTC Touch2 is well specced but doesn't bring the consumer joy that other devices do, but will suit some looking for a compact business device
-
TenBu Technologies nio Bluetooth security system
Will this keep your essentials safe?
6 October 2009 9:00 GMT
- The Good
- Easy to use, wirefree, control options
- The Bad
- nio tag isn't as loud as we’d like, you'll have to remember to keep the tag charged
- Verdict
- It might not be the physical deterrent that a cable lock would be, but its wire-free approach means you're much more likely to use it
-
Canon Pixma MX330 printer
Does this all-in-one impress?
5 October 2009 14:09 GMT
- The Good
- Cheap, decent specification
- The Bad
- Photo quality, bit slow
- Verdict
- Cheap and well specified, but alternatives have better photo quality for a similar price
-
Samsung N510 notebook
Want a netbook that can play HD content?
5 October 2009 9:11 GMT
- The Good
- Sharp, matt screen ideal for outdoor use, good 3D performance, excellent keyboard and design
- The Bad
- Bland, colours lack vibrancy
- Verdict
- A great all-rounder with a surprising amount of 3D power, excellent keyboard and good quality. One of Samsung’s best netbooks to date
-
BlackBerry Desktop Manager - Mac
Will this sync you up?
2 October 2009 18:00 GMT
- The Good
- Simple, free
- The Bad
- Lacks options for precise control, frequent sync failures, no individual section sync
- Verdict
- This is first generation software and for some we are sure it will work perfectly. For the rest, we have to hope that RIM support and update the software regularly to iron out the inevitable hiccups
-
Suunto t3c Black Arrow heart rate monitor
Will this help you "train smarter?"
2 October 2009 9:00 GMT
- The Good
- Training Effect guides your exercise, good solid connection of chest strap
- The Bad
- Display not the clearest, screen space not used in the most efficient way, strap feels a little cheap
- Verdict
- It works well enough, with the potential for expansion. If you're not interested in the PODs, you might find equal functions for less cash elsewhere
-
Motorola DEXT mobile phone
Android goes appmash crazy
1 October 2009 15:09 GMT
- The Good
- Social networks ready to roll, contacts integration, great display, generally nice and responsive
- The Bad
- Needs a software update to resolve lag, keyboard could be better, poor video capture
- Verdict
- Overall, the Motorola DEXT is a good addition to the Android portfolio, but can be bettered. It's good to see Motorola taking the initiative and providing consumers with the sort of device they'll want. And if it's a QWERTY Android handset you wnat, then it is well worth looking at

Norton AntiVirus 2010 - PC
A Norton a day keeps the viruses at bay?
1 October 2009 9:09 GMT
- The Good
- Range of innovative new features, fast and efficient scans, stylish new look, very easy to use
- The Bad
- Expensive
- Verdict
- Fast scan times, low system overheads and an intuitive and approachable new interface offer extra appeal and as such it’s difficult to think of a more capable "antivirus" product on the market
