HTC Mozart and HTC Mondrian incoming for Windows Phone 7

Well, Eric Lin did tell us that HTC is planning on being involved with Windows Phone 7 from "day one" and it looks as if he wasn't fibbing.

Two handsets have turned up in a XML database file from HTC's MMS specs page and both are running Microsoft Internet Explorer Mobile 7 - the browser of Windows Phone 7.

The two handsets in question - the HTC Mondrian, which we have tipped in the past to be a Windows Phone 7 launch handset, and the HTC Mozart.

There's no detailed specs on offer from the XML files, other than we're looking at a couple of non-physical QWERTY handsets with WVGA screens and Bluetooth connectivity (with A2DP).

Previously though, we reported on leaked details of the Mondrian which suggested that it will have a 4.3-inch screen running on a Qualcomm QSD8650A/B 1.3GHz Snapdragon processor that supports both GSM and CDMA.

The previous leak also hinted at  a camera with HD capabilities, at least 5 megapixels and a digital compass.

We're also expecting to see HTC launch the Windows Phone 7 boasting HTC Gold around November time.

So, it looks like the HTC and Microsoft partnership is back together after a number of high profile HTC Android releases. HTC has a huge, loyal fanbase and it will be fascinating to see if its Windows Phone 7 devices will be enough to get Microsoft back on par with Apple and Google when it comes to mobile operating systems.

What do you guys think? Are you excited by the prospect of HTC Windows Phone 7 handsets or are you planning on staying faithful to Android? Let us know the usual way.
