If you are a HTC Hero user and it seems like you've been waiting months if not years for your Android 2.1 update, that's because you have.
The good news though, is that HTC has started the Over The Air rollout of its phone update to bring the handset kicking and screaming from Android 1.5 to Android 2.1 in time for the summer.
HTC has confirmed to Pocket-lint that the rollout has started on Monday 28 June with operator specific handset models (that's Orange and T-Mobile) in the UK also rolling out their updates before the end of the month, just 2 days away at the time of writing.
We've already had a couple of HTC fans let us know that they've got the update messages, but what about you? Have you got your OTA update yet? Let us know how you get on.
Thanks Guy.
UPDATE: EXCLUSIVE: 3 HTC Hero update not coming till mid-late July
UPDATE 2: Orange has got back to us saying that the update will come in the "very near future" although has failed to elaborate further on this statement.
