Good Way to send USB to HDMI wirelessly

Wireless USB never really took off, despite a lot of effort being put into making seemingly pointless products, but now accessory company Good Way Technology has come up with a potentially cunning use for it.

The company has created what it calls a Wireless USB HDMI Dock, which we found skulking at the back of a Taiwanese trade fair. It's a two-part solution, a dongle that you install in your notebook or PC and a small unit that you connect to your TV via an HDMI cable.

This setup then turns your TV into a wirelessly connected display for your computer. Pretty clever, especially as it allows you to stream 720p video content to your TV with audio. The caveats being its 10-metre range and that you can only use it with Windows.

In a way, this is similar to Intel’s WiDi technology which was announced earlier this year, but it will work with any notebook, rather than the limited option of WiDi-enabled PCs.

You'll have to be eagle-eyed to spot one though, and we advise scouring import websites and accessory suppliers, as Good Way doesn’t appear to sell products under its own name.
