Thrustmaster replicates Ferrari cockpit

Extravagant gaming accessory that will appeal to serious racing sim fans

Why play racing sims using your boring old controller, when you could splash out for a replica Ferrari cockpit? Exactly. That must have been the thinking behind Thrustmaster's latest gaming accessory.

The Ferrari Wireless GT Cockpit 430 Scuderia Edition features a steering wheel which is a replica of the one found in the Ferrari 430 Scuderia. It's got an 11-inch diameter and a five position Manettino dial which will let you configure your car directly in the race. There's even sequential gearshift levers that are crafted of metal with a rubber-textured grip.

The pedals feature magnetic resistance for a more realistic feel and with a rigid metal structure and a fairly solid base, it shouldn't wobble about at all. It's wireless and will work up to 10 metres away from your console and there's a 50-hour battery on board. Handy if you fancy a bash at completing two full goes at Le Mans.

It's fully customisable, so you can adapt it to a sofa or a specialist gaming chair. Once you're done you can fold it up to store it away.

It costs $249.99 and you will be able to get one directly from Thrustmaster next month.
