If the idea of a proper iPad cases to protect your new and shiny Apple iPad sounds a bit boring, and you want something a little more "you", then check these ones out. You know you want them, but are you brave enough to pull off carrying one of these around on the train or in public?
So for the brave, mad, crazy people, that are; here are the five best mad, crazy, silly, but also pretty cool iPad cases we've found on Etsy.
TARDIS Police Box iPad sleeve/ipad case
Yep you've just seen this image and you've already got the theme tune running in your head.

What better way to show your love to all things geeky and Dr Who-ey than with a homemade tardis police box iPad sleeve.
Made from two layers of thick soft polarfleece, so it has some cushioning, the windows and decorations are sewn through both layers to quilt it together. The windows are white felt.
The tab closes with a button that is a vintage faux(?) leather wrapped coat button on a metal shank.
Sadly it won't help you fight off a bunch of Cybermen or Darleks, but you never know, there might be an app for that.

Etch-A-Sketch iPad Sleeve
The iPad is kinda like a modern Etch-A-Sketch isn't it? Well that's the thinking behind this case that lets you turn your $500/£429 doodle pad into the original tablet device.

Protection is offered by two layers of cozy felt. While the design features a grey screen, two white buttons as knobs and i-Sketch hand embroidered along the top. The inside is fully lined with red felt and there are no visible seams, so your i-gadget will glide in nicely.

The iPhone/iPad Cheese-Case
Yep it's a case made not out of cheese, but to look like cheese.

While the picture is of course an iPhone cheese case, the good news is that the maker is also creating iPhone versions as well. Each case is different. There are real holes in the case suggesting it might not be the best protective case out there, and oh, did we tell you it looks like Jerry's favourite snack.
Our only worry? That the iPhone will kick out too much heat and you'll end up with fondue in the bottom of your bag - still for some that could lead to an interesting afternoon, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
Price: $39

Gameboy iPad Sleeve
If your gadget days still hark back to 1988 this might be the case for you.

The GameBoy iPad sleeve promises to keep your iPad snug with its two layers of cozy felt, while the outside design will make you the coolest kid on the block. It's got a grey screen, a black keypad, A&B buttons and start & select. The entire sleeve is sewn together by machine in order to ensure the safety of your iPad.

iPad Bacon Case
Hmmm bacon. Yep that's the same as we thought. Who cares that it turns your iPad into something only fit for the fridge, or that it costs $59. It marries two of our favourite loves: Gadgets and Bacon.

There's not much more to it apart from the fact that it will make your new gadget look, well, good enough to eat.
As a worthy aside, this Etsy seller says they are happy to make it for other gadgets in your life allowing you to create one big bacon protecting luggage range. Now where's the tomato ketchup?
