Humax has made high definition Freeview recording possible with the launch of the HDR-FOX T2.
The HDR-FOX T2 has a 500GB hard drive which is capable of storing up to 125 hours of HD content from the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Obviously you'll also be able to squeeze standard definition TV on there as well, if your eyes can take it after being indulged with glorious, free, HD action.
There's an 8- day EPG on board, which we hope is the same as the non-recording Humax HD-FOX-T2, which we described in our review as "a work of art".
There's also USB and Ethernet ports on the device, which turn it into a fully functioning media player capable of video, photo and mp3 playback. We've not had our hands on the HDR-FOX T2 yet so we don't know if it will be exactly the same as its little brother, but the HD-FOX T2 had fairly good movie playback support including XviD and some AVIs. We'll let you know for sure, once we've had a play with it.
Graham North, commercial director at Humax said: “The forthcoming HDR-FOX T2 continues our reputation for delivering easy-to-use, high-quality products, with a feature-packed digital TV recorder that is set to provide the very best in recording and viewing features for Freeview HD+”.
It's out in July and will cost you about £349. The HD-FOX T2 is still available for around £170 if you don't need to record your Freeview HD programming.
