TomTom has launched a new flagship model on Tuesday; the TomTom Go Live 1000, and Pocket-lint was at the event to grab some photos and video of the device in action.

The first capacitive touchscreen device from the company, TomTom has attempted to simplify the new OS bringing with it contextual menus and a greater focus on speed and connectivity.

The new model runs on a completely new operating system based on the webkit platform and comes with 12 months free LIVE services, including HD traffic, to get you started.

Prices have yet to be confirmed, however expect a summer release in over 33 European companies.

The company is, however, staying quiet on a USA launch date.

We are about to jump in a car to test drive one on the road. We will keep you posted.
