Apple has launched the iPad tablet, describing it as "our most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device at an unbelievable price". Here are all the official images so far released by Apple in all their glory.

If you're more of a numbers chap, the iPad is powered by a custom built A4 processor that, as well as promising to allow you to consume plenty of media, comes with a battery life of up to 10 hours so you can watch, play, read and surf your way to euphoria.

The device is expected to launch in around 60 days (that's March to you and me) with pricing from $499 for the entry level device featuring a 16GB flash hard drive. Those keen to push the boat out completely will be able to spend around $850 for the 64GB model with Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity.

For more information on the new device from Apple you should read the full story about how the Apple tablet unveiled as the iPad was announced at the company's launch event in San Francisco.
